Recycle Week 2023 – The Big Recycling Hunt

Enva is proud to be supporting Recycle Week 2023 throughout this week. This is the 20th year of the UK wide campaign to raise awareness of the importance of recycling. Recycle Week is a time where retailers, brands, waste management companies, trade associations, governments and the media come together to achieve one goal: to galvanise the public into recycling more of the right things, more often.

This year’s theme ‘The Big Recycling Hunt’ focuses on “missed capture”, seeking out those items that can be recycled but are commonly missed in the home. Our busy lives are full of things we could (and really should) recycle. While most of us recycle, half of us are still binning items that could have been recycled. That’s a lot of lost recyclables!

Recycling saves an incredible 18 million tonnes of CO₂ a year in the UK*, so the more we can recycle the better. The campaign this year calls on everyone to investigate the hidden recyclables at home and join The Big Recycling Hunt.

To promote the campaign Enva has been sharing useful RecycleNow recycling guides and facts with our customers and employees on our social media channels. So, whether you recycle what you can, you’re just trying your best or think you could recycle more, this Recycle Week (and the days that follow), let’s keep an eye out for the things we can recycle and work a little harder to recycle more of them, more often. #recycleweek23

If you’re at all unsure about how to recycle a specific item, the Recycle Now’s Recycling Locator can show you exactly what needs to go in the recycling bin where you live. Link here

Did you know that if everyone in the UK recycled an empty aerosol, enough energy would be saved to run a TV in 273,000 homes for a year?
